About Me

35_grey

I am a researcher and practitioner working on violent conflict, international development, and humanitarian action, with a focus on gender, faith, and local actors. I am interested in research that is participatory, fair, equitable, methodologically innovative and accessible to people outside the academy. I have extensive experience conducting, facilitating and leading collaborative research with researchers, practitioners, policymakers and community members.

Work experience

I have worked in academia  and the non-profit sector since the early 2000s, including in three positions as Head of Department. This has included work with cultural centres, civil society organisations, development/humanitarian/peacebuilding organisations, faith-based organisations, schools, thinktanks, universities and youth centres in Africa, Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North America.

Formal education

I hold a PhD in Politics and International Studies from the University of Warwick, an MSc in Comparative Politics (Conflict Studies) from the LSE, having studied for a BA in Social and Cultural Sciences at the European University Viadrina and at Sciences Po Paris. I am also a trained Practitioner in Civil Non-Violent Conflict Management.
